1. Use delays to your advantage!
Whether you are waiting for your train to come or sitting around for a meeting to start, use your time wisely! Walk around, take deep breaths, anything to keep your body healthy and active.
2. Plan your meals ahead of time!
Fresh is Best – Eating a clean and fresh diet will not only give you incredible energy for our busy lives, but will keep you healthy and working well on the inside. If its pizza you want, create your own at home and make it a party. Using fresh ingredients will not only make a favorite dish smell and taste great; you’ll have lasting memories of a fun evening in with family and friends!
Plan ahead - We’ve heard it all before, a little planning could keep us on track food wise at work while away from our own kitchens during lunchtime. On Sunday night, do all your cutting and prep work for the week. Choose a menu for lunchtimes that satisfy not only your nutritious needs but also the “yummy” factor that will keep you happy and nourished emotionally AND nutritiously!
3. Accept bribes.
Tell yourself, “If I walk every day this week at a nice pace for 30 minutes, I can download my favorite album for my iPhone. Always working in rewards that can make your workout routine that much richer and overall positive experience, helps keep work outs a constant!”
4. Do it in the morning!
Wake up 30 – 40 minutes earlier than you usually do and sneak in a workout! You will fell revitalized and ready to conquer the world!
5. Rent a gym locker
Save yourself the hassle of having to go home and change by going straight to the gym!
6. Keep an eye on your workouts
Write workout notes on your fridge or on your desktop. If they are in your face you are less likely to forget them!
7. Get an exercise buddy!
Preferably someone who you are not so close to, this way you are less likely to blow him or her off!
8. Keep your running sneakers in your desk!
Want to escape for a quick run? Well now you can! Having your sneakers at work with you saves you the hassle of having to go home from a busy day.
9. Vary your workout plan!
Take turns from toning, abdominal, weight training and cardiac exercises to make the best out of your workouts!
10. Do the big four!
If all else fails, do the big four – squats, push-ups, lunges, and planking.
Most importantly, make sure to workout in moderation. Do not over exhaust yourself or you will lose your motivation to get back at it the next day. Develop a daily routine and you will lead a fabulously balanced life mind, body, and spirit!
