I always believed that the style you choose and wear describes your character and your mood of that day. Fashion may be something that you think of just as an everyday routine, or something that you may ponder for hours before starting your day. Whatever it may be to you, ultimately fashion is something that represents yourself as an individual.
Although we don’t want to admit it, physical appearance is the first thing we notice on another individual. We tend to look at the person’s style of clothes and try to guess the type of person she is. If someone’s wearing a nice shirt and pencil skirt, we would automatically think she’s a businesswoman. If someone’s wearing a sequined cocktail dress and heels, we would think she’s going to a party. In the fashion world, fashion designers design and create fashion that represents themselves and their company. Each fashion designer named their fashion line after their own names, and each has an original style of their own. Therefore, to them, fashion is something they create to keep them and others happy and alive.
“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening”. Just like the renowned Coco Chanel quoted, fashion has to do with our ideas and our lives. Fashion is everywhere. That is why there are so many styles, and more and more people are getting inspired to become original and make their own stance in the fashion world. No woman wants to walk out and see another woman wearing the exact same outfit. Fortunately for us, we were all born differently – with different body shapes, heights, and sizes. We are not only different physically, but mentally as well. In order to make our own fashion statements, we need to love ourselves and our bodies. We need to know what makes our bodies look good and what doesn’t. After all, the first person who sees what you’re wearing is yourself.
Fashion is not just something to appeal to other eyes. Fashion is adding on a physical layer of individual style and beauty, to the layer of true beauty that is inside you. So how do you make fashion your own?
