Fall Fashion Week 2012 has already made its debut, and EmmeNation is here to break it down one by one this week.
The 5 W’s of 2012 Fall Fashion:
Who: Altuzarra made yet another big hit with his Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection: military-inspired tailoring, fur peacoats, velvet blazers, toggle coats, detailed/colorful patterns, corduroy flares, and thigh-high boots.
What: Old-school/graphic sweaters. What I believe everyone noticed during this year’s Fall Fashion Week was the use of old-school quilted fabric, and graphic sweaters making its fancy display down the catwalk. Proenza Schouler, Diesel Black Gold, Suno, and Marc Jacobs were among the greatest designers who showed mix-matching sweaters with playful and sexy bottoms, could be very couture.
Which: The color trend for Fall 2012 seemed to be going for a more feminine and adultish look. The orange craze still continues, but rather a dustier and softer tone of orange was seen during the fashion week. Dark red (wine color), purple (eggplant), navy blue, peach, pink, teal, and yellow (mustard) are also hot new color trends for the season.
Where: Nordstrom’s. It is not only known for its most fashion-forward retail store, but is also the 11th among America’s best retail brands of 2012.
Why: Fall is the season to really get out there and show your personal sense of style, as you can mix-match just about anything you want to your wardrobe. Whether you like layering your clothes, or like to simply match a v-neck sweater with a skirt and boots, fall is when you can go all out without having to worry about the heat or snow. Besides, who doesn’t like a sexy pair of boots styled with a gorgeous collared peacoat?
