Without a question, when my other very adventurous soul of a friend, Dr. Beth Dupree (she’s coming with us on our EmmeCruise May 2015) says she’s making yet another tour to Haiti, I know although I couldnt join her, I’d see the and read about the joy that comes from her gift of healing…the incredible stories that she and the fellow doctors who come back each year, connect through their compassionate care…and the soulfulness of the people they meet there.
“It is the demeanor of the Haitians that is so special. Their eyes are soulful and with a simple glance, they can see directly into your soul.
Our patients may have been monetarily or materially poor, but they are all spiritually wealthy beyond belief. Over and over again this week patients would awaken from anesthesia and say “May God Bless you and your TEAM”, “ May God bless your hands” and they truly meant it.”
